Welcome to the South African Cloth Nappy Directory!

My name is Bianca and I started this page when my son, Kyle was 7 months old. I’m pretty new to cloth nappying, although my sister and I were raised in old school cloth nappies. I decided that I would use cloth while I was still pregnant. I did a little research, but couldn’t find too much info at first. Then a Groupon came out for a brand I had looked at, and I decided to go with that. I purchased 22 of the same nappy and got one other kindĀ from the same company. I thought I was sorted for my son’s nappy life. Little did I know…

Once my son arrived and I was struggling to get a good fit with his nappies, I started doing more research and discovered the South African cloth nappy users group on Facebook. This has been a wealth of knowledge for me. That led me to discover the SA Cloth Buy/Sell/Trade group. As I started to learn more about the different nappies and what works and doesn’t work on my son, I started to increase my stash.

At the time of writing this (Dec 2014), I have over 70 nappies in my stash, and there are still more that I really would like to add to my stash. Since I have already spent a small fortune, I decided that a good way to enjoy my passion without spending any more money, would be to start this website.

My hope is for this to be a one stop website with links to as many, if not all, the online places to buy nappies in South Africa; as well as a resource for information, and assistance. I have a blog of on the bum shots which will give everyone a chance to see how nappies fit on different children.

So settle in and please let me know if there is any other information you would love to find on this page.

      Hi Clarissa

Not yet. The BST page on Facebook is the best place. The link is at the bottom of the page.

      Thanks B

I am a new granny to be and love this design of nappies.
However, I see you have to buy inserts and liners.
Are the inserts washable? I reside in Durban so would like to know what delivery cost would be.

Hi Mariana. That’s great that you are interested in cloth for your grand baby. There are a number of retailers in Durban. I would recommend maybe getting a cloth demo for you and the mom to be, so that you can get an idea of what kinds of nappies are out there and available. You are welcome to contact me. I do the demos for free.

      Hi Natalie

Most OSFM nappies are similar in size to FP. Bam+Boo made a Bamboo Ai2 which is definitely a bigger cut, but as far as I know they are discontinuing it. You would only get them on the second hand Market.

I apologise for the delay in replying to your message!
